"I started Doctor Nick's because other beard products on the market just didn't work for me. While growing my beard, I experienced itching, redness, dandruff, etc. You name it, I experienced it. A friend of mine who has an awesome beard recommended I try beard oil to help the process. I figured hey "he has a huge beard, surely he knows what to do!" 

So I researched some available products, read reviews, and selected what I thought would be some good options. To my disappointment, everything I tried either did nothing at all or made things worse, MUCH worse. Some beard oils made my entire face red, others burned the skin under my beard and some smelled way too strong.

So I fell back on the old adage of "if you want something done right, do it yourself" and decided it was time to make something that worked for me. I consulted with a friend who has experience in the apothecary and skincare space who pointed something out that changed my bearded life forever. He told me that a lot of people are sensitive to fragrance oils and if I was one of them, that could explain all of the problems I was experiencing. After reviewing the ingredients in each of the oils I tried we discovered that all of them were loaded with fragrance oils. Additionally, he pointed out that all of them contained a mixture of oils that were great for hair, but didn't contain anything beneficial for the skin. I said "hey man, I'm trying to grow a beard here, not skin, who cares?" to which he pointed out in a very fatherly tone "You can't grow tall trees without good soil. The skin on your face is like soil for your beard!". 

So, with all of that in mind, we set out to make a beard oil that was both good for the hair and the skin and most importantly for me didn't contain any harsh fragrance oils. We created a balanced blend of oils that was good for the hair and added Borage Oil which is great for the skin. We decided to use all-natural, Co2 extracted essential oils for fragrances to avoid any of the issues I experience with fragrance oils. 

All of my problems disappeared.

My beard was happier than ever, skin included! A side effect of my beard looking and feeling amazing, was that growth picked up too. Areas that were sparse or patchy began filling in and looked full and healthy.

And with that, Doctor Nick's Amazing Man Stuff was born. I knew that I couldn't be the only one who had these problems and decided it was my mission to help every beard that I could. Since then, 1,000's of people have told us that without our products, they wouldn't have a beard at all. It turned out that countless people experienced the same problems that I did.

Doctor Nick's Amazing Man Stuff was established in the fall of 2015 and is based right south of Boston in Pembroke, MA.

All our products are made by hand in small batches and are tested on live animals against their will. Obviously, by live animals, we're referring to our friends and by against their will, we mean they beg us for free stuff. 

We spend way too much money on our ingredients and way too much time on our products. Because of this, you're always getting something awesome, unique, and craft. No white labeled products from a big factory overseas.

All of our ingredients are premium, cold-pressed, USA-made and organic wherever possible. Everything from formulation to packaging, label design, bottling, and marketing, is all done in-house by our small 3 person team (if you want to call Bryan a person that is).
